Textgram is an extension for Mozilla Firefox. It works hiding images from Instagram posts and showing instead the description that the Instagram algorithm automatically assigns to them. Moreover moving the mouse on the post the image is shown, making the automatic act of reading an image a more stratified process. In this way a social network who has been designed to highlight images over texts is deconstructed, creating a greater friction while using it and showing one of its hidden features.
